Brexit: Wole Soyinka?compares?British PM, Boris Johnson to Russian President, Vladimir Putin
Nigerian Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka has called on Commonwealth members to investigate the United Kingdom.

In an interview with the BBC, Soyinka said that Prime Minister Johnson's decision to suspend parliament sets a bad example and could lead to their suspension from the Commonwealth. He compared the British leader to Oliver Cromwell and Vladimir Putin.
In his words, 'I never thought it was possible, I never thought I would live to see a prime minister suspend the parliament. Fellow members of the commonwealth should examine the protocols of British political association and see wheter Britian merits suspension from the commonwealth for setting a bad example in democratic practice.
He went on to say the commonwealth of nations should 'send a fact finding mission, talk to this man Johnson and see if he's really a citizen because he's behaving like someone brought up in the Putin tradition.
